One of his previous books, The Unquiet Grave: The FBI and the Struggle for the Soul of Indian Country, made several best-of-the-year lists. He has written about fasting for Harper’s, aphrodisiac hunting for Outside, soccer for Slate, and books for the Washington Post. He lives in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife (a law professor) and dog (a border lab).
