Max Sklar is the creator of the Local Maximum, a weekly podcast exploring current topics in tech, math, and political philosophy. While working at Foursquare he wrote their city guide rating system, and he's currently working on an open-source database system (Newmap.ai) that is attempting to rethink from the ground up how engineers and scientists build data stores, algorithms, and artificial intelligence.
