Max Sklar is the creator of the Local Maximum, a weekly podcast exploring current topics in tech, math, and political philosophy. Over the past five years, he has hosted many discussions and debates with top engineers, authors, and entrepreneurs. While working at Foursquare he wrote their city guide rating system, and he's currently working on an open-source database system (Newmap.ai) that is attempting to rethink from the ground up how engineers and scientists build data stores, algorithms, and artificial intelligence.
